I think the best solution for us is treating the anxiety more than the stutter itself. For example, after a good gym session my anxiety decreases to a level I can speak without any block for a while....

Get him talking slowly or keeping a beat like five tapping will help. I do sing what I want to say and it mostly works. I remember having a Speech Easy that helped somewhat. CDB water solubles do help...
