It's pretty common. When you impersonate, do an accent or sing it uses a different part of your brain apparently and sometimes that bypasses what makes you stutter....

A very slight American accent does me fine (im british). And yeah when I sing or perform my stutter competely disappears. Not sure why but its easier to out on an accent than to sing thats for sure!...

While singing (different usage of our mouth, tongue, etc.) is shown to improve fluency, I would imagine rapping would be similar. I would imagine you would be more fluent while doing that....
