I am in a theater department, and have been for a long time. However that tends to be mixed on who stands up for me or not. Many are very protective of me while others see everybody else as competition. When I stood up for this seasons auditions there was a whisper of stutter imitations and laughter across the room, but I mean it’s just assholes being assholes. Of course there are still many who are very caring. I just still find it interesting that I decided to pursue theater with a stutter, but it doesn’t stop me. I can warm up so I don’t stutter on stage, so it’s easily controlled.
