For me "stammer" is fine to say, I can see the "sp" being easy to say than "st", it's less harsh, but quicker!...

i have stuttered since I was twelve, and used the word "stammer" to describe it to people, but eventually i started stuttering on that word too. So now i just say i have a 'speech disfluency'......
