Student that I tutor has a stutter

Student that I tutor has a stutter Hi all, I'm a high school student who tutors on the side, and most of my students are also high school students. I've just started taking on younger students (think middle school and elementary school) but one of my elementary students has a stutter. I have no problem with this (I've worked with a student who had a mild stutter in a summer day camp) but he is extremely shy whenever we meet. His mom says that he's fine at home, and thinks that he's anxious and self-conscious. I want to help him improve his grades and do well, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what he needs help with on each problem since most of our conversations end up with me asking yes or no questions so that he'll nod or shake his head. How can I let him know that I won't judge him for his stutter? Is there any way that I can help make these tutoring sessions easier for him? I don't want to try to "change" him, I just want to help him as best I can in school! Thanks in advance!
