Like I said, at the time I was meeting with this speech pathologist trauma as a cause of stuttering was a leading theory, and I do believe that you are correct in that more studies have shown a neurological cause than a psychological one. At the end of the day, I don't care about WHAT caused my stutter. It's a part of who I am and it's been a great way to filter out friends and other relationships. Doesn't make it any less interesting to think about what could be the cause of my stutter.
