(just to be sure, >PWS People With Stuttering? haven't seen the abbreviation before.) funny thing, now that you mention phones. i tend to want to _avoid_ phones. conversation is typically an effort, and i feel more safe if i'm face-to-face with the person. as a result, i choose writing whenever i can! not phones =) i think i might be "reflective" in general (trying not to make it sound like a big deal here, because i don't wanna come off as elitist), which could be why i've been able to examine my stuttering on my own. but the habituality of it all, that's a long history. a _looong_ history, is what i'm getting at. stuttering doesn't begin when you wake up, or "reset" when you go to sleep - it's been there for many, many years, and everything that goes into it on that account is something that we might successfully be able to analyze ourselves. as such, i don't think you should worry about "overlooking" anything! it might be somewhat of a herculean effort to cover all possible stutterer "approaches", and as far as i'm concerned, that's not necessarily on you, because you wanted to speak about stuttering from the experience _you_ have with it. an added benefit, of course, is that you landed in conversation with someone, because you chose to share it. :) btw. i'm very outgoing myself, but i also shy away from certain situations, simply because i can't be bothered. if i were to adopt some sort of rigid approach to how to stutter, or how to "think positively" (what you'd like to call it), i think i'd just end up feeling like things were too rigid. it'd be like an overhead structure that i don't need. it might help some, but my stuttering is... different, for me. like, to put it differently, my _life_ has been a particular way, with all the layers of habituality that goes with it, and i think i might be getting the hang of it, such that i don't feel "lost" in my stuttering all the time. and once again, if there's anything in the above that seems weird, please do ask further. i've never really written at length about it (especially not in english, which isn't my native language), so some wordings/phrasings might be confusing. i've had lots of down-to-earth talks with people about it, but long posts like these are different. :)
