There was a boy who transferred to our class in 8th grade who would never talk or contribute to the lesson. After half a year I chatted him up in the bus on our way to school one morning because he always seemed so lonely. I noticed he had a bad stutter (worse than mine at the time). Over time we became friends and we both helped each other a lot because we both were the first people we met with a stutter (no one in mine or his family stutter). He eventually ended up going to speech therapy after years of avoiding it (I dunno the reason) and his speech improved and so did his grades. I don't know how he's doing now, but I remember that he was trying to stream on twitch during that time period! That was definitely a very nice experience I'm fond of. We immediately had something in common despite not having any overlapping interests, simply because we both stutter :)
