Maybe don't help finish the sentence but offer a patient acknowledgement of understanding. Focus on the content of what is being said rather than the means of delivery. Feel free to cut in if the word simply isn't coming but do so by moving the conversation forward in an engaged way. It takes some practice but at the end of the day aconversation is about communicating worthwhile thoughts and ideas not tongue dexterity.
