Trouble with Parents Anyone here living at home currently? I'm living at home and I noticed that I stutter more at home than when I'm at work. At work I have my guard up and I rarely ever stutter. Yesterday at home I was talking to my mother about some dumb law that was passed in Texas. I stuttered over the word "funeral" and I don't know what happened. She went off on me and just got so angry at me. She was all like "You're stuttering has gotten worse. Go see a speech therapist all you have to do is pay for the copay (side note: I can't afford the copay). Work out more. Get a better job. Better yourself" and just an avalanche of bullshit came out of her mouth. It's frustrating. It's just so frustrating and to think my stutter caused her to be triggered so badly and it made her so angry at me. Anyone have any tips when dealing with difficult situation like this with family?
