Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. You know when I was in elementary school, my Mom had evidently talked to a teacher about me and told me that teacher offered to help me. I said to my Mom just what your Mother said to you, " O Mom, I can do it, I know I can." I remember that to this day! I couldn't do it myself, gradually I knew that I could not do it. I needed help. I didn't get help until I was 21 years old. Stuttering is a very complex thing, stuttering is different in every person who stutters. There are many more books about stuttering than when I became involved with helping myself. You Mom needs to be reading books also, I think. She will never be able to understand what you experience when you block, but she CAN believe you when you tell her what it's like. I have some old books with authors that are no longer alive. Please contact the "Speech Foundation of America", and get a list of books - they're online, I'm sure. That Foundation was started by a man who stuttered - Malcolm Fraser. They probably have an updated list of books that they might send you and your Mom or Dad to get acquainted with what is going on with stuttering. Check at your library. Your parents need to know what you're experiencing so that you can work together helping each other understand. Also, depending on the schools in your area, you can check with them if they have speech therapists employed with them who took stuttering courses in a university. Most schools have speech therapists available.
