I’m so happy to hear he’s in band! It shaped me into who I am today. I ended up majoring in music and taught for 10 years (yes! With a stutter!) I’m out of the field now, but I’m forever grateful for what band and music in general did for me. To be fair, I wasn’t hanging out with people outside of school hours at that age either. That started more in high school… and I hung out with friends a TON. Keep encouraging him to make friends and build friendships, but obviously don’t force it. It’ll come. Maybe ask if he wants to have one of his friends over after school sometime?
