"you should have somebody else call and ask your questions for you" That's really awful. When I was a teen I worked in fast food too and I have to say it was actually one of the few places where I didn't stutter. They even decided to put me on drive-thru register most of the time because they thought I was good talking to customers. I rarely ever stuttered over the microphone or talking with customers. Now I'm older and stutter all the fucking time on the phone in work.
