I do the same when I drink. Someone should make a study about this honestly. Its weird but it makes sense that you can speak more fluently when you are slurring a little and not thinking so much. Makes me wonder if theres some kind of drug that could just slow your thought processes but not your motor functions. This just adds to my belief that its such a psychological thing thats been engrained into your head since the stutter arose. I almost forget I have a stutter sometimes when I drink and simply not thinking about makes me talk smoother. Its just interesting to see someone else do the same. Im worried Im going to drink too much when Im older lol. Right now the social anxiety balances it out for me but I still like going out for this sole reason. Feels like the only time I can speak freely without worry. Its nice to know from someones experience that it gets better as you age too.
