Wow, you really went for the throat. I usually just inform them that I have a speech problem, they apologize, and then I say it's fine. I kind of have mixed feelings about what you did because if you were just passing as fluent and had a slip up then the worker behind the counter was probably just trying to make a light-hearted joke and had no idea that you stuttered. I would never e-mail corporate for something like that.
