This is the main thing holding some stutterers back, the stutterers I know that have made progress have put in countless number of hours to get where they are. I don't like having to put in the work either but only after doing my research, talking to other stutterers, finding a speech therapist and committing myself to getting better (not just becoming fluent) I've been able to make progress and so can you if you put in the time, good luck
