So it's interesting you bring this up. Your perspective is similar to a method of stuttering intervention that doesn't get talked about very much. Dean Williams' Normal Talking Model suggested that stuttering happens when we begin to "interfere" with our normal way of talking (which is mostly stutter-free). So, whenever we get that "stutter-y feeling" we're supposed to make our bodies "remember" what it feels like to speak "normally" I didn't do a great job explaining it, but your post reminded me of that treatment approach.
