Sucks that this particular job didn't work for you, but at least you decided to get out! My stutter is not as subtle as yours seems to be, its not every single word, but it tends to be frequent long silent blocks. I can relate to that condescension where people try to tell you how to talk, it is annoying and I can imagine that if it was such a big deal and you were frequently reminded at your work/ had to always control yourself that would get exhausting.
