I hide it. Now, it's become part of my speech pattern. I don't use "uhhhm" but I will elongate my syllables. I developed this because, when i used to use the uhhh-way, people assumed I had forgotten what I wanted to say. I'll also try to interchange words if they are easier to say. But that leads to some interesting sentences that don't always make the most sense, "Does your mother (shit, i can't say the L-sound so i better not say 'like') enjoy me? "Does your mother enjoy me?" *sigh* Yeah, I know I'm not a prostitute but I couldn't say an L-word so I said enjoy instead. Can we please stop laughing now? Thanks! Anyways, stuttering sucks. You probably have anxiety BECAUSE of your stutter. Oh, and it's a confidence killer too. If you must publicly speak then practice, practice!!!
