The Valsalva technique is fundamentally flawed. The it assumes that moments of stutter are characterized by increased laryngeal muscle activity. But this is not the case. I don't like it. you can see the paper I'm referring to [here](http://jslhr.pubs.asha.org/article.aspx?articleid=1781045)
