it's awesome that you wrote here! :-D from my point of view, the best thing that you could do as a slp is to create an environment where the people you are working with can feel that they can be honest about stuff. that level of communication will really (in my opinion) help them to feel better and continue to work on the stuff they want to. to be honest, i have never felt that i could be candid or honest with a slp -- i do the rote treatment, am 'cured', and when i start relapsing i feel like such a loser or failure that i pretty much cut ties and start doing my own thing (which is to just own my stutter as much as i can and not be afraid to speak up).
