Have you experienced any brain trauma/concussions within the last few months? I wasn't born stuttering either - I suffered bad whiplash in a car accident when I was 7 yrs old and began stuttering a few months later. I'm 23 now and still trying to deal with it. I could list a ton of strategies (that I'm still learning myself), but for the sake of not occupying an extreme amount of space, I think the best advice I can give you is 1: stay positive. Fear and negativity will make it worse. 2: consciously ease the tension in your articulators and breathe through it. 3: meditate. This increases mind-body connection, breathing, and the ability to "acknowledge" a negative thought or stutter rather than let it affect you. 4: don't endure rude "jokes" from assholes. Politely but firmly explain that it is not ok to make fun of stutterers. (Ok, this one has some flexibility, but I wish I knew how to stand up for myself growing up. I smiled and laughed with them so people would like me. So, do what you like, but be cautious since it can be draining).
