This is something I’ve been interested in learning about. I’m 30, and have had a stutter for most of my life, and still do. However, after a few drinks, or after partaking in certain substances, my stutter disappears. And even completely sober, there’s been many times where I’ve just felt ‘confident’ and energized where I don’t stutter at all. I just want to understand why it happens and what the difference is between all these situations. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and also as a teacher, just to push myself, but the majority of the time, I still struggle and revert back to the things I do to “hide” it. Especially on the phone. God, do I hate using the phone lol. Edit: I’m also not sure if my general anxiety with most things is a byproduct of the stuttering, or if the stuttering is a byproduct of the anxiety.
