How to make friends as someone with a stutter? Hello, I'm a 25 year old who struggles to make friends because of my stutter. Ive had a stutter all my life and it has ruled my life. Im not an introverted person naturally, I would love to go out and meet new people but my fear of stuttering and peoples reaction to it keeps me inside.Ive tried making friends on apps like Bumble friends, i had met so many great people through it that i got along with, but overtime the friendship fizzled out because i cant talk as much as i do online like joke around and generally interact like i want to because im trying to avoid stuttering. How can i make myself more open or approachable as someone with a stutter? Would telling people i meet that i have a stutter help ease awkwardness? How did you make friends as a stutterer? My life has been a series of missed opportunities - i really want to be part of something. Im so tired and sad of being judged and alone all the time. Open to any advise or perspectives! note: Ive also posted this question somewhere else hoping to get more perspective on this if possible!
