Just reading about your experience with the CEO and HR rep made my heart sink. I know exactly how you feel. It’s such a helpless, awful situation. I think we all have those moments burned into our memory. For me, it was during a big work event. They had us all (probably 75 people) stand around the room and go one by one and say where we were born. By the time it got to me I could barely speak and was so tense. I will be honest and say that I was so jealous that everyone else could just speak normally without issue while I couldn’t get the words out.
