Not sure where to begin Hi everyone! I'd like to ask for your opinions on my 3.5 year old daughters stutter. She's always had a little bit of a stutter, which I assumed was a normal developmental thing. But in the past week or so it has become really bad. She has even started to put her hand over her mouth when she can't get the words out. She is becoming quite frustrated and upset by it. The thing is, she is bilingual. Her vocabulary is extensive and she can switch between languages without a second thought. Like most kids her age, she never stops talking. However, when she is playing by herself, such as doing her teddy bears' voices or singing as she plays, the stutter all but disappears! I always thought that her brain is working faster than her mouth, and that it will go away as she gets older. Now I'm not so sure. I don't know if I should give it more time to see if it goes away, or perhaps I should speak to speech therapist. It breaks my heart to see her upset, and I'll do anything I can to help her. Any thoughts?
