Two techniques I use to reduce my stuttering is remembering to breath and to enunciate my words, but I do agree that when talking to people techniques are easy to forget. Like today I was conducting a phone interview and for 3/4 of the time I was stuttering badly. But then I remembered my techniques which significantly reduced my stuttering. I know it may seem impossible to remember those techniques when you talk to people, but try your best to. My stutter also varies from person to person. I'll have groups of friends I will talk with, and I won't stutter that much. But then when I talk to my best friend I will stutter a lot, maybe because I want to share everything with my best friend all at once. Whenever I talk to people older than me or authority figures, I stutter too. So maybe anxiety has something to do with my stuttering. So when did you first notice that you stuttered? I became aware that I stuttered in high school. I went to a boarding school from 13-17, so I was forced to interact with all of my fellow boarding students while living and going to classes with them. I was also an incredibly shy person until senior year of high school (the boarding school), where I decided not to be shy anymore.
