I know what you mean. You've got a lot to offer thats easier to show in person than to hear on the phone. Getting in front of people is definitely better than just applying online and I totally encourage it (and admire the effort you seem to be making as well). I also dont feel that nervous or anxious approaching speaking with employers, but then when I open my mouth a block comes out of nowhere. And it's strong. Not inline with how much calmer I actually am so wtf? For me, regardless of how consciously calm I would make myself, the subconscious anxiety (which I couldnt even notice a lot of the time) is too great a force and takes over causing the blocks. There's not much to do but to try and calm your nervous system so it doesnt get too excited. What I focus on is starting my sentences/words slowly and in control. Particularly the first breath and sound. If I feel rushed at the start, its nearly impossible to calm myself during the conversation. So I focusing on starting relaxed and keeping that way. Continue getting yourself out there. Also be sure you're asking around and telling everyone you're looking for a job. Most jobs are found through people, not ads, so let it be known you're looking and maybe you'll get lucky. But on top of all this, I would double your efforts by applying online everywhere you can. Finding a job is a job. You have to do something everyday. Maybe have someone look over your resume who works in the industry you're trying to get into. Just stick with it. It's easy to get discouraged, but that won't help you. Every day just think you're getting closer. You're job is out there somewhere, it's all a matter of time. Good luck, mate!
