Hi, 30-year-old male here. I’ve been stuttering for as long as I can remember. From my experience, I can say that by the time I was around 18 and in my first relationship—I’m not even sure how—I just stopped paying attention to my stutter when talking to my girlfriend. It was worse when it came to talking to her family or friends; that was always an uphill battle. However, with age and a few other partners, I’ve learned that the most important thing is to have someone who doesn't give a damn about it—someone who can pat you on the back and say, 'Hey man, try again, you got this.' Dating has always been stressful because my stuttering gets pretty severe when I’m having a bad day. That’s also why I try to stay in long-term relationships, so I don't have to go through the whole process all over again ;) I guess you just have to not care too much; if it works out, it works out. If someone doesn't understand, there will be someone else who does. ;)"
