i actually don't get the comparison between "chaotic music" and stutter at all. the elements of the analogy seem to be on rather different levels. the confidence thing seems to bring the two a bit closer together. however, i don't consider myself a "performer" when i'm just trying to speak whatever. all the confidence in the world won't help me if that day, on that given occasion, the words just didn't come out right. musical performance seems much more a question of rehersal, no? and the bit in the end... i can't say that i'm all to happy about the image it presents, of a succesful stutterer who works hard on one side, and on the other... what? someone who "deserves" to not succeed because they're lazy? this is just to say, we can be positive about this thing, and it'll probably make us feel better. but we should have a perspective a bit wider than that, for those times when things turn to shit... you see what i mean?
