Hi everybody- your expertise requested (yes you!) Hi everybody. I have an eight year old daughter (who has a stutter) who I love more than life itself. Her stutter is getting in the way of her making friends at school- and assimilating into life altogether. While I’ve definitely had my share of struggles in life, I lament that I can’t properly show empathy toward her as I have not suffered from this particular affliction- and this maybe don’t understand the gravity depth of what she endures on a day to day basis. Sometimes her eyes well up in tears when she comes home from school- but she doesn’t fully disclose the depths of what she dealt with during her day. I feel helpless in my ability to aid her sometimes. Are there any suggestions you guys may have for her or me? Any messages or wisdom to pass on? Thank you in advance.
