Yeah I think the h sound it just a conscious way to do it. I've learnt just from getting old that my best control method is anxiety reduction. If I'm going into a situation that I feel is gonna be tough. I have a well rehearsed upbeat "hi how are you? greeting and wait for them to actually respond. It catches most people off guard and puts them on your side. It relaxes the whole conversation for me so I stutter and block less and I feel like everyone is more understanding if I do.
