*My* argument is that it isn't a jerk-like thing to call scientific validity into question. And it isn't. You can circle his wagon until the cows come home, and that's just whatever. I take issue with someone calling critical thought jerkish/mean/unnecessary, especially in a community rife with dangerous misinformation.
