When I asked my parents why I had a stutter they told me very casually that some of the chemicals in my brain don’t fire 100% correctly. I’m huge into psychology and neuroscience now. I had speech therapy around 6th grade and I think it helped with confidence, and learned how to better decide for myself how I was feeling about my stutter.
