Hi, I am developing an app called the Fluent Digital Twin that lets you communicate fluently in video conference calls even if you stutter. The FDT transcribes your speech into text using AI. It turns out that this, by itself, removes many disfluencies. Then the FDT processes the transcription to remove residual disfluencies. Finally, the FDT reconstitutes the fluent transcription back into synthetic speech in a cloned voice, which can be made to resemble your own voice. You can use the FDT in video conference calls, and only the fluent, synthetic speech (and NOT your original speech) is transmitted to your conversation partners. If you could "treat" your patients over video-conference calls -- which admittedly will work only for some types of patients and their ailments - then you could have a fluent "presence" in the calls. We're nearing the end of software development for the FDT, and within the next 6 weeks or so we'll be looking for volunteers to test it. If you're interested, please contact me. Note: I am a retired physicist, not a speech-language pathologist. Caveat emptor.
