I tried one out for a couple of weeks when I went to speech therapy. Unfortunately it didn't really do anything for me. My speech therapy was more focused on breathing exercises and the mental attitude towards your stutter. So far I recall, my speech therapist didn't have a lot of success with these fluency devices. It was apparently very hit and miss. For some it works, for some it doesn't. And when it works, maybe it only works a little bit. At least that was her experience. It's definitely worth trying out if you can give one a shot without paying for it, as they're not exactly cheap. I don't know if the technology has advanced since I tried it (5-6 years ago), but I wouldn't go in with too high expectations. I think it's still quite experimental. I went in hoping for an easy "cure", but that wasn't the case. On a side note, the model I tried was really sensitive (only tried the 1, can't speak for other models). It was a little chaotic to wear, as a lot of sounds were played back, not just my voice. It was really noisy if you were in a car. Again, I can't speak for other models, but even if it worked for me, I probably couldn't deal with all that extra noise.
