YES! this was instrumental for me as well. We start to feel like we can't take up space and we have to make ourselves as small as possible. But the truth is, if you listen to other people speak, they mess up and take pauses and talk weird all the time. No one is expecting you to speak wrong, only you are. The people I've told I had a stutter always said they'd never noticed. Take the pause, readjust, and just go on. If someone decides to point it out, let them know. It's not our job to educate people, but it ends up happening anyway. Or you can just shrug and go on with your day.
