I'm 37 and have stuttered severely my entire life. I have 2 kids 14 and 7. My oldest used to mimick me when he was younger so I was concerned for a while but it did pass! He speaks perfectly normal. My youngest did the same thing but it hasn't passed. His stutter is different than mine tho, he repeats words alot while trying to say the words he'd like to say. He doesn't just go for it and get stuck like myself. I was horrified when I realized this wouldn't pass for him and after all I've been through I didn't want that for him. What I do is listen patiently and I will never ever rush him. He needs to understand that the way he speaks is perfectly normal for him and while we can work at it, hes normal and can take all the time he needs. I feel he won't encounter so much hate as I have because he's adapted very quickly and I have him in speech therapy to build his confidence. You'll never not be concerned bud, I've cried myself over this. It's going to be ok! Make it ok for your kid, bolster his confidence, hype him up, and make him realize it's ok. I never got this and like many of us I'm dealing with it now. Good luck and reach out if you need
