I was isolated for the first 20 years of my life because of my severe stutter. When I was in grade school, I ate lunch in the janitors closet because nobody wanted to hang out with the kid who sputtered and stuttered. My first date, ever, was when I was 25 and it was a blind date. I reached a point where enough was enough and I accepted my stutter, I no longer fought it. Each of our journeys is different and I chose to accept it. There's a freedom in letting go. Reach out, find an online stuttering community, find a speech therapist, find a life coach , find individuals who also stutter so you can, in my verbiage, "find your tribe" because it's important to talk about the struggles and more importantly the triumphs. I am only here by the grace of God because I was in a dark place because of my severe stutter and I shouldn't be here. Find your tribe This life is very challenging but once you decide to find your tribe and get your frustrations out, you're going to start to feel a little better.
