I know it’s easier said than done but don’t let your stutter control you. If you want to converse with your parents, do it. This kind of stuff has a habit of building on itself. Fearing a stuttering situation makes you stutter even more in that situation. I know I sound like a broken record around here but have you considered therapy? You’ll learn some tools to work through blocks. One particular tool I’ve found useful is breathing exercises. Next time you have a block, pay attention to what your body is doing. I bet you’re holding your breath during a block. Keep your breathing regular and try to pronounce the word on every exhale. Cary a syllable on each breath.
