Is stuttering neurological or a habit?

Is stuttering neurological or a habit? Some people lean more toward one side or the other. But the reality is that developmental stuttering contains both neurological components and habitual components. **The neurological factors** come from genetics and abnormal activation. **Habitual components** can show up, for example, when loud music increases someone’s stuttering one day, but on another day, in the same person, it decreases their stuttering. For example, this may happen when the link changes between the inner evaluation/judge and unconscious stimuli linked to an outward manifestation, like when the brain is allowing or deciding whether to execute the speech plan or preventing the execution of the speech plan. I think we can all agree that developmental stuttering is **not** neurogenic stuttering. Do not forget this point. People who stutter, as well as researchers, may focus on different views that they believe are the correct ones. That is because everyone sees it through their own biased lens, shaped by their own beliefs and experiences. Still. I think, we should not dismiss the fact that this is a stuttering forum, where we can remain open-minded about other views and opinions. so instead of shutting each other out, let’s share and learn from one another. We should post more of our own unique views. *So, what are you guys waiting for?* https://preview.redd.it/7frqtig8joqg1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f630bfe400c40a61a047b47d1751c4c55c2220c
