I love this comment. Cancellations really can be a powerful tool to reduce tension and regain control of your speech. I typically don't have clients do them out in the wild from the get go. We start in the therapy room, then move to family and friends, then to less comfortable environments, etc etc. it's a process. Like anything challenging and worth doing, you don't jump from A to Z immediately. For those interested, here's a video describing the technique.
