Just had an unannounced phone interview. (story) For the past month or so I've been applying for a lot of jobs, without getting much of an answer. Then today I got a call about a job I applied for two weeks ago. The interviewer asked if I had time for a few minutes to answer some questions and talk about the job. I said yes of course even though I had no time to prepare and wasn't close to my computer. It didn't go that great, I stumbled a lot and got blocks which made some answers a lot shorter than I would have liked. The interviewer was very professional and didn't react to my stuttering, even though it was obvious. At the end of the interview I had to apologize and explain the situation to which the interviewer was very nice and said that it's ok. I don't think i'll get the job, both due to me being unprepared but also due to my heavy stuttering. But I at least felt like I learned something from the experience and i'm glad they thought I was qualified enough to warrant contacting me. Would love to hear other people share their stories about interviews and how to overcome it.
