A fellow stutterer here🙋🏻‍♀️. Someone pointed out sign language, which is such an interesting idea that I haven’t heard yet as it relates to severe stuttering… obviously the circle in the hard of hearing community is small but how much more restrictive can it really be if you’re already struggling to communicate 10/10 times in 10/10 situations.. and talk about the exhaustion of getting stuck in a word, every word, our minds running at 100 miles a minute trying to spin its thesaurus on overdrive. Learning sign language is an interesting idea because it would at least free you up in some situations, also taking pressure off. Question for you - do you stutter when you’re by yourself or talking to a pet? I hadn’t my whole life.. but recently started to stutter in these situations too. I truly feel like my brain is making those stuttering neuron connections permanent😕 Feel free to DM me!
