For me, my stutter is about equal when I speak English vs. Spanish, but it's 10x worse when I'm speaking Chinese. It sucks because my Chinese is already pretty bad (I'm Chinese-American), so when I try to speak to a Chinese person in Chinese, they think I suck even worse at the language, and will usually just switch to English. One of my friends' parents actually mocked me once for it. She was making fun of my American accent when I was speaking Chinese to her, and implying that I don't know how to speak my own ethnic language. When I got annoyed at her comments, she was like, "Go on, say the word 'potato' in Chinese. Or say the word 'car'." And of course, I blocked hard on those words, and she just laughed as if I had proven her theory. I was seething inside, but it's hardly appropriate to curse out your friend's mom...
