You might want to try it again, just to see if you can gain some better results. - I was in speech therapy when I was a kid, and that was basically the breathing stuff, probably like what you mention. I think they're limited in what they can do if the subject is too young to reflect on their perspective. Later, when I was older, I tried it again, but at that time, I had sort of come to an understanding about my stutter, and there wasn't much we could really do from there. The exercises contrasted with my understanding in a way that made me uninspired in rehearsing them. Even later on, I've basically just progressed down that path of knowing my own circumstance, you could say. I still think the therapy worked, but perhaps indirectly so, because it gave me a certain measure of added perspective (regardless of immediate benefits or not). - We all have different paths, but we need to try the established ones, just to see what we can get from them.
