From my own experience, I can't recommend it. If I drink in a situation where I feel great and have fun, then alcohol surely relaxes me and I also care less about my stuttering. If I drink in a situation where I'm anxious, nervous and under stress, it can completely backfire. With alcohol having conscious control over my stuttering becomes harder and I might stutter more too, which will make me more nervous, and you get into a nice little a stress spiral. I wouldn't recommend alcohol or any other substance as a solution, they won't be reliable, might work sometimes, might backfire some other time, might work less and less over time, etc... Not to mention that relying on a substance as a solution is one step towards substance abuse, in this case alcoholism. It's not that I don't drink alcohol recreationally, I just don't want to depend on it as a solution for any issue.
