Hello 👋🏻 Yes, speech therapy helps. It is like anything else, the more you put into it the more you get out of it. But it has helped a lot of people improve their fluency. For myself, the key to fluency is about breathing. If I start to stutter I stop talking. I take a breath in and on the breath out I try again. Taking the exhale breath relaxes all of the muscles in your throat and makes it easier to talk. With everything you have been through in your life, maybe seeing a counselor is a good idea? I went through a dark time in my life and I was suicidal. But I stuck around and I am glad I did, so maybe you can too? If your interested check out the book “don’t believe everything you think” I wish you the best of my luck my friend, be kind to yourself and show yourself some grace, you have a stutter and that’s okay.
