Hello! Welcome to the sub, :). ----- Short and more standard advice: Remember to breathe, be mindfull, exercise, use bodylanguage and try and hold a positive mindset. If you're able to find an environment where you don't stutter, that helped me a lot, just as a reminder that I can speak without stuttering also I can apply that feeling to other situations. ---- Jezz tell me about, making connections with others means the world!! Really cool that you enjoy talking to people. Just getting to know strangers is part of why communicating is so fun! :D If it started happening just lately it can be caused by a lot of things. Over exhaustion, underlying stress. Maybe you're caught up in something that grabs your attention from other things! If it's been happening for a while I can put my own experience and maybe something applies to you! I get blocks when I stutter. One of the variables that makes me stutter is when I get excited and/or emotional! Mainly because I "jump the gun" on things I want to say. The expectation to jump in on impulse, gets me to fumble words that starts with vowels. I think it's mainly the anticipation that gets me during those times. Emotionally overstimulating in a sense. It can also happen when I'm too relaxed, and I start to get lazy in the way I speak. (Announciate less, both with the way I speak and eith body language, breathe less, poor posture when sitting/standing etc. If your mind goes blank, take a step back, take a breath and try again. Sometimes it works to push trough but other times it's good to be mindfull and "recover". I think mainly overtime, if you're selfaware and try to experiment with things you're comfortrable with in the sense of communicating. (I gesture a lot) You'll find patterns that can help you stutter less. I think mental health is a big one for me. Just remember to be happy(lots of small levers to pull). 🐧 Hope your day has been solid and the tomorrow is event better! Keep on choo chooin' 🚂
