I learned so much Spanish in high school but I think this was my main issue. My reading and vocab were decent/above average, but trying to maintain a proper accent and get through sentences was impossible for me. In English I was relatively fluent (aka covert) but in Spanish it felt like I was at my elementary school -level of fluency.
